Pursuing Politics of Peace and Nonviolence

TRACI Online Conversation on “Pursuing Politics of Peace & Non-violence”

Especially organized for the former participants of TRACI’s Faith & Active Citizenship Course (Open also to anyone interested)

The introductory note of Faith and Active Citizenship course highlighted the fact that “the bedrock of Christian political engagement amidst decaying political culture is to usher in a counter-cultural model and a narrative that Christians can infuse into the political discourse” and “our political engagement should flow from a commitment to Kingdom values in the world, of ushering justice, peace, equality, dignity and a life of freedom and abundance for all.” How to practically pursue those lofty ideas into hard reality of our body politic has been a lingering question in the minds of the course participants.

Some of our course participants have explored the avenues available with serious intent. Mr. Manish Joshi (TRACI FAC 2022) from Uttarakhand is one among them. He recently attended a four-day workshop named “Ahimsa ke Raste” (Paths of Non-violence) in Wardha, Gujarat which helps people make sense of politics and find ways to engage in political process. The goal of the workshop is to help participants make sense of our times and explore what we could be doing to keep our politics humane and our country on the path of the Constitution. He is quite excited to share his learning and experience with us. We will also have Ms. Jennie A (TRACI FAC 2024) join him in this conversation who had attended this training 5 years ago which had led her in the path of pursuing politics of peace and non-violence.

We invite you to join in this conversation on 6th December 2024 at 7 PM India on Zoom.
